Breweries in Sedona

Sedona is wine country by reputation and that is fair, but there are two breweries, and one of them has been at it a long time.

Oak Creek Brewing Co., 2050 Yavapai Drive, says on its own site that it has brewed since the 1990s, which makes it one of the older independent breweries in northern Arizona rather than a recent arrival.

Sedona Beer Company, 465 Jordan Road, is the other. Our record marks it kid friendly, which is worth knowing if the afternoon includes children, though it is worth confirming on the day because that kind of policy varies by time of evening.

Both are off the main drag rather than on it, which in Sedona usually means easier parking and fewer people who arrived by tour bus.

Why the list is short

Two is the real number, not a gap in our data. The Verde Valley’s drinks industry is overwhelmingly wine, for the same reasons the vineyards are here: climate, elevation and a river. Brewing has no equivalent local advantage, and the valley’s brewing is mostly down the hill.

Getting back

If you are staying in the Village of Oak Creek or down the hill, the Verde Shuttle runs between Sedona and Cottonwood hourly from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days, for $2. Within Sedona itself there is no equivalent late service, so plan the ride home before the first pint rather than after the third.
