Bars in Sedona

Sedona is not a drinking town and does not pretend to be, which makes a list of three about right rather than thin.

Mooney’s Irish Pub, 671 Highway 179, is inside the Hillside Shopping Center on the SR-179 side, which puts it within walking distance of Tlaquepaque and the galleries along that stretch.

Stagecoach Country Roadhouse, 1405 West SR-89A, is out in West Sedona, which is the residential and workaday end rather than the visitor end.

Vino di Sedona, 2575 West SR-89A, is a wine bar as well as a tasting room, which is why it also appears on the Sedona tasting rooms page.

What Sedona evenings are actually like

Things close earlier here than visitors expect, and earlier again on a weeknight and out of season. If you are planning a late one, ring ahead rather than driving over on a Tuesday in February and finding the lights off.

The other thing that catches people is the driving. SR-179 down to the Village and SR-89A up through Oak Creek Canyon are both dark, winding and busy with deer and elk after sunset. Neither is a road to take having had a couple, and rideshare coverage up here is thinner than in a city.

The Verde Shuttle runs between Sedona and Cottonwood every hour from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days, for $2 each way, and trips entirely inside Sedona are $1. That is the cheap, reliable option, and the last bus is the thing to note before the first drink.

If you want more choice

Old Town Cottonwood has a walkable strip that mixes bars, breweries and tasting rooms over about half a mile, so you park once. Jerome, fifteen minutes further, has its own small handful with a view down the whole valley. The Old Town guide covers the Cottonwood end block by block.
