Places to stay in Verde Village

Best Western Cottonwood Inn, 993 South Main Street, and Pines Motel, 920 Camino Real. Both serve Verde Village, and both carry Cottonwood mailing addresses.

That is not a mistake in our records. Verde Village is an unincorporated community: it has no town government of its own and it sits inside Cottonwood’s postal area, so almost everything here has a Cottonwood address on paper while being in Verde Village on the ground. If you are searching for somewhere and the address says Cottonwood, that is expected.

What staying here is like

Verde Village is residential and spread out, on the western side of the Cottonwood area toward the river. It is quiet, it is cheaper than Sedona by a wide margin, and it is a few minutes from Old Town Cottonwood and its tasting rooms, ten minutes from Clarkdale and about twenty-five to Sedona.

The trade is that there is very little within walking distance. This is a car place, and that includes getting to dinner.

Why base yourself in this part of the valley

Position and price. From here, Sedona is twenty-five minutes, Jerome twenty, Camp Verde twenty-five, and the Page Springs and Cornville vineyards about twenty. Nowhere in the valley is more than about forty minutes away, and a room costs a fraction of one up the hill.

The Verde Shuttle runs Cottonwood to Sedona every hour from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days, for $2 each way, so visiting Sedona without driving and parking there is genuinely practical.
