Wellness in Sedona

Sedona has more wellness businesses than any town this size anywhere, and “wellness” covers an enormous range here. These three sit in three different places on it, and the differences matter.

7 Centers Yoga Arts, 2115 Mountain Road, is a yoga school and studio. Classes and training.

Namti Spa, 60 Tortilla Drive, is massage and spa treatment. Its own site lists massage among its services.

Sedona Holistic Medicine, 1350 SR-89A Suite 26, is a clinic. That is a different category of thing again, and the suite number matters because it is in a shared building rather than standing alone.

What to check, and it is not a directory’s job

We list the address, the phone number and what a business says about itself. We hold no ratings, no qualifications and no complaint records, and nothing here is a recommendation.

Where that matters most is the third of these. For anything presented as medicine, the useful question is what the practitioner is licensed as in Arizona, by which board, and whether that license is current. Arizona licenses naturopathic physicians, medical doctors, osteopaths, acupuncturists, chiropractors and massage therapists through separate boards, and each publishes a verification search. A title on a website is not a license, and “doctor” covers several very different qualifications.

For massage, Arizona licenses massage therapists individually. For yoga, there is no state license at all and none is expected; the relevant question there is training lineage and insurance.

If you are here on retreat

A great deal of what is sold in Sedona is sold to visitors, and prices reflect it. If you are booking several sessions, ask about cancellation terms before paying up front, and be careful with packages sold on a first visit. That is ordinary consumer caution rather than a comment on anyone here.

The valley’s conventional medical provision, urgent care, dentists, pharmacies, is in the health section and mostly in Cottonwood and Sedona proper.
