Art galleries in Sedona

Sedona’s galleries keep to a clock you can count on, which is rare on this site. Five of the six galleries we list have hours on record. Every recorded opening time is 10 AM, apart from one Sunday that starts at noon, and closings split almost evenly between 5 PM and 6 PM. All five are open seven days a week. There is no need to check which day is the dark day, because there isn’t one. What there is instead is a hard stop in the early evening. A gallery visit is a morning or an early afternoon plan, not something to fit in after dinner.

These places are not all the same kind of thing. Some are single-owner galleries showing a handful of represented artists. One is an arts center with classes and changing exhibitions rather than a shop. One is a shopping village with a number of galleries inside it, so a single listing there can take an afternoon on its own. Read the listing page before you plan a route. Two of these addresses are worth an hour each, and one is worth three.

The addresses are spread out. They run from Dry Creek Road on the west side across to the creek-side village, so this is a driving afternoon with several parking stops rather than a walk down one street. Galleries on the busiest stretch share parking with restaurants, so mid-morning is easier than midday.

Buying something? Ask about three things: whether the price includes shipping and crating, whether the gallery can arrange delivery out of state, and whether the artist is represented exclusively, since that decides whether you will see the same work elsewhere in town.
