Trails around Jerome

We list 15 trails around Jerome, about 26 miles in all. They come from the U.S. Forest Service’s own trail records, and all 15 are in the Verde Ranger District of the Prescott National Forest.

All of them short: none of them is long. The longest is about three miles, the middle of the list is just under two, and three are under a mile. Any one of them fits into a morning.

Everyone is welcome: the Forest Service records the allowed uses for all 15, and every one allows hiking, bikes and horses. On a busy day you may meet all three, so keep an ear out for bikes.

What is underfoot: all 15 are dirt and rock.

We don’t rate trails as easy or hard. The Forest Service doesn’t publish that for these trails.
