Licensed child care in the Verde Valley

We list 17 state-licensed child care centers in the valley: nine in Cottonwood, three in Camp Verde, two in Clarkdale and one each in Cornville, Rimrock and Sedona.

Every record here comes from the state. Every one of the 17 carries its license number, its license type and its approved capacity. Those came from the Arizona Department of Health Services licensing record, not from the center itself. So you can see what a center is actually licensed for before you call, and you can look the same license up yourself at the state.

Not one has a website. All 17 publish a phone number. None of them has a site we could verify, which is normal for this kind of work, since most centers fill their places by phone and word of mouth. There are no opening hours on any of these records for the same reason. Calling isn’t a fallback here. It’s the way in.

What the list includes. Four are Head Start programs run by N.A.C.O.G., in Camp Verde, Clarkdale, Cottonwood and Rimrock. The rest are independent centers, a school district preschool program in Cornville, and two faith-linked schools.

Capacity is not availability. The capacity figure is what the state licenses the center to hold, not how many places are open. Waiting lists in the valley are common. Ask about both when you call.
