Trails around Cottonwood

We list four trails around Cottonwood, about nine miles in all. They come from the U.S. Forest Service’s own trail records, and all four are in the Red Rock Ranger District of the Coconino National Forest.

Why the list is short: this page holds Forest Service trails only. Paths inside a city or state park are not on it. The park itself is listed under parks.

The four: the longest is Raptor Hill Trail, about four and a half miles. Thumper Trail is about two and a quarter, and Bill Ensign Trail is about a mile and three quarters. The fourth is under a mile. All four are dirt and rock.

Who can use them: the Forest Service doesn’t record, for these, whether bikes or horses are allowed. Read the signs at the trailhead before you ride.

We don’t rate trails as easy or hard. The Forest Service doesn’t publish that for these trails.
