Clubs and associations in Cottonwood

Cottonwood has 6 clubs and associations on record. Three of them hold regular meetings that anyone can attend.

Rotary Club of the Verde Valley meets Thursdays at 12:10 p.m. at Calavera Restaurant, on the first, second, and third Thursday of the month. The club runs a duck race fundraiser at Dead Horse Ranch State Park and funds three scholarships.

American Legion Post #25 posts a calendar with a general meeting and bingo every Thursday evening. Check the post’s own site for current dates, since we don’t hold a schedule ourselves. There’s also an auxiliary, a Sons of the American Legion unit, and a riders group.

Cottonwood Lions Club has served the town since 1950. For years it funded eye exams and eyeglasses through can recycling for people who couldn’t afford them, and now it runs a free clinic at Old Town Mission. Used eyeglasses are collected at drop points around town, including vision centers, a bank, and a church.

Old Town Association promotes the Main Street business district, meaning the antiques, galleries, food, lodging, and tasting rooms, and lists over 60 member businesses. It runs seasonal events including a sip-and-stroll and a chocolate walk.

Two wine-industry groups, not social clubs. The Verde Valley Wine Consortium is a trade group for producers. It works on the region’s grape-growing designation and on industry issues, not on events for the public. The Verde Valley Wine Trail is the side of it visitors see. It runs a tasting passport, in print and as an app, across the valley’s wineries and tasting rooms, and it’s the better one to check if you’re planning a wine-trail visit.
