Churches in the Verde Valley

We list 19 churches across seven towns. Sedona has seven, Cottonwood four and Clarkdale three. Camp Verde has two, and Jerome, Verde Village and Village of Oak Creek have one each. That is a more even spread than most categories on the site. Trades tend to gather in Cottonwood and Sedona. Congregations sit where people live.

Denominations. Twelve of the 19 records name one. Catholic parishes are the largest single group, with churches in Camp Verde, Clarkdale, Cottonwood, Jerome and Sedona. The list also holds Lutheran, Episcopal, Methodist, Baptist, Latter-day Saint and non-denominational congregations, plus Unity Church of Sedona.

Service times are the thing we can’t give you. Only two of the 19 publish hours we can verify. Times like these change with the season, with a holiday, or when a priest is covering more than one parish. Eleven list a phone number and ten have a website. Use those before a first visit. Don’t just show up on the strength of a listing.

Most of these records came from OpenStreetMap, so they carry the basics, meaning name, location and denomination, rather than a full profile. Where a church has its own site, we’ve checked it and said so on the listing.
