Heating and cooling in Camp Verde

Air conditioning in Camp Verde is not a comfort question in July, it is the reason you can sleep. That makes two things worth knowing before you pick a name off this list: who answers at night, and who is actually licensed to do the work.

Who answers at night

Three of the five publish around-the-clock hours: Aire Serv of North Central Arizona, Fiscor Plumbing and Air, and Goettl’s High Desert Mechanical. In practice that means a phone line that takes emergency calls, not a van idling outside. Dalton’s AC Heating & Refrigeration and Verde Sol Air publish ordinary business hours.

Who covers what

Two of them are valley-wide rather than local to Camp Verde. Goettl’s lists Cottonwood, Clarkdale, Cornville, Camp Verde and Sedona; Verde Sol Air lists all of those plus Jerome. Dalton’s covers Camp Verde and Cottonwood. Fiscor lists Camp Verde alone, and also does plumbing, which is worth knowing if the problem turns out to be the water heater rather than the air handler.

Licenses

Three carry an active license in our record, each checked against the Registrar of Contractors and active on the date above: Aire Serv (ROC 297131), Goettl’s (ROC 095880) and Verde Sol Air (ROC 057904). Goettl’s number is the oldest of the three by some margin, which tells you the company has been registered a long while; it does not tell you anything about the work.

Dalton’s and Fiscor have no number in our record. That is not the same as being unlicensed. We match on business name, trading name or phone number, and a license can be filed under a different legal name. Check at roc.az.gov before you commit, and confirm the classification covers heating and cooling.

Replacing a system is permit work, so it needs a licensed contractor whatever it costs. Ask for the ROC number, the call-out fee, and whether a quote for a new unit includes the permit and the disposal of the old one.
