Coffee in Camp Verde

Thanks A Latte, 348 South Main Street, is the independent, and it makes sandwiches as well as coffee, which in a town with limited lunch options is the more useful fact.

Starbucks is at 1620 West Highway 260, in Kokopelli Plaza. It is what it is, and out here that is not a criticism: it is the predictable one, it is near the highway, and it opens early.

Which, and when

The split is geography. Highway 260 is the commercial strip on the west side near the interstate, so Starbucks is the one you pass if you are driving through or stopping off I-17. South Main is the old town center, near Fort Verde and the community center, so Thanks A Latte is the one you are near if you are actually in Camp Verde doing something.

For a Saturday morning at the farmers market, which sets up next to Fort Verde on Hollamon Street from 8 to 11, South Main is a two-minute walk and the plaza is a drive.

Working from a laptop

Camp Verde is spread out and a lot of people here work remotely or are passing through on a long drive. Both of these are the realistic options for sitting with a laptop; ask about power sockets and how strict they are on the wifi, because that varies by branch and by owner and there is no way for a directory to know it.

The rest of the valley

Cottonwood has considerably more, including several places on the Old Town strip, and Sedona more again. If coffee is the point of the outing rather than a stop on the way, the coffee list covers the valley.

Hours in both cases move with staffing, and the chain’s counter sometimes closes before the shop does. Each listing shows what we hold and when we last checked it.
