Breweries in the Verde Valley

We list seven breweries and taprooms. Three are in Sedona, two are in Cottonwood, and Camp Verde and Clarkdale have one each. Six publish opening hours, and all seven have a website.

This valley is wine country first, and that is the useful thing to know. The wine trail pulls in the crowds and the tour buses, so a brewery is usually the easier place to find a seat on a Saturday afternoon. If a tasting room is packed, try a brewery a few streets over.

The names carry the local history. Smelter Town Brewery in Clarkdale takes its name from the copper smelter the town grew up around. Belfry Brewery sits in Cottonwood’s Old Town. The three in Sedona are the ones set up most for visitors.

Hours are written down better here than in the other drinks categories. Six of the seven publish them. Even so, taproom hours move around with the season and with events, and several of these are small operations where the taproom is open fewer days than the brewery works.
