It sits with the Arizona Department of Agriculture’s Office of Pest Management, which registers pest control businesses and the individual applicators who do the spraying. So if you look one of these companies up at roc.az.gov and find nothing, that is expected and means nothing. The register that matters is the Department of Agriculture’s, and it is worth asking for the business license number and checking it there.

The four, and what each leans on

Conn Pest Control, at 127 North Main Street, does a lot of termite work. In this valley that is the one that costs real money, and termite jobs are where a written treatment plan and a warranty matter most.

Arizona Bug Co on West Mingus Avenue treats the general run of ants, bugs and the rest.

High Desert Pest and Weed Control on Papago Lane is the only one of the four that also does weeds. If the problem is a yard rather than a house, that narrows the list to one.

Questions worth asking

For a termite inspection, ask whether the report is the state-standard form a lender will accept, what the treatment warranty covers and for how long, and whether re-treatment is included or charged. For general pest work, ask what is being applied, whether it is safe around children and pets and for how long, and whether there is a contract or it is call-by-call. A company doing this properly will answer all of that without hesitating.
