Fresh Roof of Northern Arizona holds ROC 351897, and when we checked that license against the Registrar of Contractors it came back suspended, not active. A suspended license is not a clerical difference. In Arizona the practical consequences are real: a contractor cannot lawfully contract while suspended, and the Residential Contractors’ Recovery Fund, which exists to compensate homeowners when a licensed contractor causes loss, is tied to a license being in good standing. Hiring on a suspended license can leave you with no route to that fund.

Licenses are suspended for several reasons, some administrative and quickly fixed, such as a lapsed bond or an unpaid renewal. It is not a finding of bad work. Before you sign, for any of them

Roofing needs a permit, so it needs a licensed contractor whatever the job costs. Check the number at roc.az.gov, confirm the status reads active on the day, and confirm the classification covers roofing. Then ask what the workmanship warranty covers and for how long, whether the price includes tearing off and disposing of the old roof, and who pulls the permit.
