Vets in Camp Verde

Three practices in town: Anasazi Animal Clinic at 407 SR-260, Montezuma Veterinary Services at 298 West General Crook Trail, and Complete Pet Care on Prospectors Lane.

That is a reasonable number for a town this size, and for routine work, vaccinations, a limp, a check-up, any of them is a phone call away.

The gap worth closing before you need it

None of the three tells us it offers emergency or out-of-hours service. Across the whole valley we hold that flag on exactly one practice, Danza Del Sol in Cornville, and even there it is worth ringing first.

So the honest position is this: if something happens to an animal at 11 p.m. on a Sunday in Camp Verde, this page does not have your answer. The nearest genuine overnight emergency hospital is likely to be in Flagstaff or Prescott, an hour either way, and we do not list those.

That is a problem to solve on a calm afternoon, not in a panic. Ring your own vet, ask who they refer to out of hours, and write the number somewhere that is not only in your phone. Ask too whether they will see an emergency for an existing client outside hours, because some will and it is not something they advertise.

If you are out on a trail with a dog when something goes wrong, the nearest is not necessarily the one you are registered with, and any of them is better than a long drive.
