Hotels in Camp Verde

People stay in Camp Verde for one of two reasons: it is the cheap, easy base for the Verde Valley, or it is the halfway stop on I-17. Both are good reasons, and all three of these sit near the exits.

Cliff Castle Casino Hotel, 555 Middle Verde Road, is run by the Yavapai-Apache Nation and is the one with things attached: free live music on Friday and Saturday nights, the outdoor Stargazer Pavilion for touring acts, an event center and a nightclub. The gaming floor is 21 and over. If you want somewhere to walk to in the evening rather than drive, this is the only one of the three that qualifies.

Comfort Inn, 340 North Goswick Way, and Days Inn, 1640 West Highway 260, are chain hotels near the highway. Our record marks Days Inn as dog friendly, which is worth knowing if you are traveling with one, though confirm it when you book because pet policies and pet fees change more often than anything else on a hotel’s page.

Why base yourself here

Camp Verde is about twenty-five minutes from Cottonwood and forty from Sedona, and a room here is usually a good deal less than a room in Sedona. Montezuma Castle is at exit 289, the same exit as the casino, and Montezuma Well is four miles further north at exit 293.

The catch is that Camp Verde is spread out and everything needs a car, and the town has no evening to speak of outside the casino. See the things to do guide for what is actually here.
